The band is currently in the studio finalizing the details on their upcoming album, ‘Shade,’ and they’re close enough to the finish that they’ve started booking tour dates for the fall.
The veteran rockers have been in the studio with producer Ron Saint Germain, who is currently mixing the ‘Shade’ album. The band goes way back with Saint Germain, as he produced their Grammy-winning debut disc ‘Vivid’ back in 1988. Though a firm release date has not been announced, ‘Shade’ is expected to arrive this fall.
“‘Shade’ is the sound of a band coming to terms with its shadows and light,” says guitarist Vernon Reid. “From the blue pulpit of Robert Johnson to the mean red streets of Brooklyn to the golden lure of Hollywood, ‘Shade’ is the next chapter of a unique American journey.”
And speaking of journeys, Living Colour will start a fresh one this fall. The band is currently celebrating their 30th year of operation and will kick off a new batch of dates on Sept. 18 at Toronto’s Opera House. The trek continues into mid-October, with a second leg set to follow the first on Nov. 28 in New York. The group will then finish out the year with shows through Dec. 7 in Hanover, Md.
